Rate installed in high hat some hanging down and some horizontal, it works both ways even is meant to be installed vertically as the product description by ledradiant. These are much brihter than the 26 watt that replaced and are instantaneous, opposed to the cfl that took 5 minutes to warm up.(Posted on 3/11/2019)
