I can backup all the reviews that have been posted, that this device works, and is the best. I can add one thing which may help someone. My antique Mogul 3-way lamp has a large diameter shallow glass shade. For this reason the total length of the bulb or any bulb/adapter combination cannot exceed 6.8 inches or else you will see the bulb poking up above the shade. That is not acceptable. Again, this adapter is best, because it does not add any length to any bulb you use! Sadly, all the NEW LED bulbs Mogul or Standard base are too long, or its design is such that only a small portion of the bulb actually puts light out. My lamp depends on light coming from a more full 'globe' such as a classic bulb. Until the LED technology advances I depend on devices such as this.
I think I have a lamp fetish........I have 2 really old Mogul base 3-way switch floor lamps that I wouldn't throw out and I looked online for adaptors that would allow the 3-way switch to operate correctly. Only this one works! I was tired of spending a fortune on Mogul base lightbulbs and this worked like a champ! Thanks!
After reading Jim's review, I decided to see if this would work with my vintage lamp's 3-way mogul base. It does! I have found no other mass-produced adapter with that functionality. The one downside is that a medium-base bulb with this adapter will sit really deep in a mogul socket,
I ordered some corn bulbs from this same store but didn't ask for mogul base and my fixtures are all mogul. Called and they sent me these adapters at no charge, I only paid the shipping. Easy to convert but it didn't work. I tried the bulb in a regular socket and then realized that the center was not making contact as the regular mogul is longer than the residential, just lifted the flap at the center of the bases with a wood stick and all works perfect.
with this adapter, we can replace our old fixtures, so simple to use, screw it tight to the bulb, otherwise when taking of the bulb the adapter may be stuck inside the fixture, also lift up the flap in the fixture because these are shorter than regular mogul.
I had recently purchased a vintage bridge lamp that had a three-way mogul base and it was impossible to find an adapter that would allow me to use an LED three way bulb with an Edison base. This product works. I knew that I has seen one at a store some time back but everyone told me you would just have to use the ugly ceramic single adapter that would only give you access to a single bulb. Glad I found you and if I find anymore vintage lamps with the same problem, "I'll Be Back"(with apologies to Arnold).
