Because of generally poor seasonal weather conditions, and the Canada Post strike which slowed mail delivery, even for private package delivery companies, I finally received your shipment yesterday, 5 Dec. 2024, via UPS.

I have an old barley twist floor lamp that has a mogul socket for a 3-way bulb. Incandescent lamps for that socket size are increasingly difficult to find, and become very hot in use, so I purchased a 3-way LED bulb with a standard medium base and a socket adapter from a local hardware store. Unfortunately, the lamp's 3-way switch would only give me one light intensity, despite assurances from a store representative that the adapter should work with the 3-way switch. I was disappointed with the the adapter and returned it to the store.

I then did further searching online and found your mogul socket adapter that purported to work with a 3-way switch. I called LEDRadiant and spoke with Eddy (a very pleasant fellow), ultimately ordering your socket adapter. Because of our postal strike here in Canada, the shipping cost was many times the cost of the device, but I was determined to try it.

As soon as I received it yesterday, I screwed it onto my 3-way LED bulb (which I had NOT returned to the store), screwed the combination into my floor lamp, tried the lamp's 3-way switch, and voilà...it worked! The adapter is an elegant simple design with no electronic parts. Essentially, it is a threaded copper double sleeve (doubled back on itself), open at one end. The inner sleeve screws onto the bulb, and the outer part of the sleeve screws into the mogul socket. I am VERY happy with how this simple elegant device solved my problem of changing my floor lamp to LED. This product should be more available in Canada!

I had an old "Barley Twist" floor lamp with a mogul base for a 3-way incandescent bulb. Because these burn so hot, and I had increasing difficulty finding them, I resolved to switch to a 3-way LED bulb if at all possible. I went to a local hardware store and, on the advice of an employee, bought a mogul adapter for the medium (regular) socket size, being told that the 3-way feature was "in the switch". I bought a 3-way LED bulb at the same time. On returning home, I screwed in the adapter, and then the LED bulb, and tried the switch. I got ONE intensity out of the 3-way LED, so promptly returned the adapter and went back to an online search. Finding LEDRadiant, I phoned, and spoke with "Eddy", a most pleasant fellow, and ordered the adapter in question. Because we currently have a postal strike here in Canada, I spent many times the value of the adapter to have it shipped...but I was DETERMINED! I received the shipment about two weeks later, and decided to try it at once. I screwed the adapter to the bulb, then screwed the combo into the lamp's mogul base, operated the lamp's 3-way switch, and voilà... got the three light intensities from the LED bulb!

It was an elegant solution to the problem. The product contains no electronics. It is simply a double-walled cylindrical copper tube (actually one cylinder that is folded back onto itself, so open at one end, which faces up finally) with mogul threads on the outside and medium (standard) threads on the inside. The open inner end screws up onto the medium bulb, and the closed outer end screws down into the mogul socket. I had to make no alterations in my situation. I was a very happy camper! This product should be available in Canada!

A simple gizmo that does what it says it will -- allow a standard 3-way bulb to work properly in a mogul lamp socket. The price is right too except for the extra charge for shipping, but it's still a good option. I will caution anyone thinking of using a 3-way LED bulb to replace an incandescent 3-way mogul bulb to look at the shape of the LED bulb in the context of your lamp. Many LED bulbs flare out just above the screw threads considerably wider than the same spot on the old mogul bulb. If your lamp's opening above the socket is too narrow, those LED bulbs won't screw down far enough to make electrical contact. There are LED bulbs with narrower, longer necks, but you may need to search for them.

After two purchases that did not work, I located the mogul to standard adapter offered by ledradiant. The online information stated that it would work on 3 way lighting. It arrived earlier than they advertised and it worked! Good product, good company.

I have a special floor lamp my parents got around 1940. I wanted to replace the 3-way bulb with a similar LED bulb. I was shocked when I removed the old one - it was huge and had a base much bigger than a standard bulb. I learned it is a mogul base. I went to the electrical department of the 2 large home supplies stores in my area. One showed me a base adaptor and said it would only work with a 1-way bulb, then suggested I call a handy man to change the wiring. The other insisted their base adaptor would work with a 3-way bulb. It did not. I continued to search the internet and found the Mogul to medium base adapter converter here. I cannot tell you the joy when I attached it to the new standard 3-way bulb, then screwed it into the base and turned the switch. It worked! I didn't even have to raise the flaps on the base. Thank you!

I can backup all the reviews that have been posted, that this device works, and is the best. I can add one thing which may help someone. My antique Mogul 3-way lamp has a large diameter shallow glass shade. For this reason the total length of the bulb or any bulb/adapter combination cannot exceed 6.8 inches or else you will see the bulb poking up above the shade. That is not acceptable. Again, this adapter is best, because it does not add any length to any bulb you use! Sadly, all the NEW LED bulbs Mogul or Standard base are too long, or its design is such that only a small portion of the bulb actually puts light out. My lamp depends on light coming from a more full 'globe' such as a classic bulb. Until the LED technology advances I depend on devices such as this.

I think I have a lamp fetish........I have 2 really old Mogul base 3-way switch floor lamps that I wouldn't throw out and I looked online for adaptors that would allow the 3-way switch to operate correctly. Only this one works! I was tired of spending a fortune on Mogul base lightbulbs and this worked like a champ! Thanks!

After reading Jim's review, I decided to see if this would work with my vintage lamp's 3-way mogul base. It does! I have found no other mass-produced adapter with that functionality. The one downside is that a medium-base bulb with this adapter will sit really deep in a mogul socket,
